Received this by email, but for some reason the photos didn't come through, i am hoping they might have transferred onto the blog as if by magic, we shall see, if not mum will have to send some photos separately, she did have lessons whilst she was home.....(julie)

Hi everyone out there!

Well, here I am back in the good old US of A enjoying myself as much as ever.

We had a little hick up coming into the US the immigration officer told me that we cannot come in to the US as we are doing because this means we are living here! We do have 10year multi entry visa, we have already proved to the Embassy in London that we only want to tour/visit the US and to be able to come home often, hence the multi entry visa, we told him we did not wish to leave England (we have too much to lose). He told us next time we come in we will be sent home!! This is very worrying as when we come home our trucks are left here in the US at the moment we are a little confused as to what we can or cannot do Les has sent a letter to the Embassy so please all keep fingers crossed. After all our countries are best friends!!

Other then that all is well, my truck is good and I am fine.

We left Prescott and headed for the Grand Canyon, going through Sedona and Flagstaff, oh! This place is so beautiful. The whole of the Colorado Plateau which takes in the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion Nation Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument and now we are in Capitol Reef, this also covers Monument Valley, Arches Nation Park all of these astounding places must make this plateau one of the top natural wonders of the world. It is magnificent, the colours, the shapes and the size are so wonderful; we have spent days in some of the most awe-inspiring scenery I have ever seen. The plateau pushed up out of the crust of the earth some 6000 – 10000feet above sea level, wind, water and ice have done the rest, now, the size and beauty is very humbling it has taken 1000’s of years to make this natural landscape we stand here just a speck and a blink of an eye in this amazing world AND we are not looking after it, we should, we should all try and do our bit even if it is very small, because man cannot achieve what nature has done.

We were very lucky the weather has been very good a little to hot some times, colder then we expected, our first day on the south rim we had some very bad rain, we had no coats the wind that comes before and with the rain is very cold Margaret and I hid behind a stone wall, we were frozen.

The Grand Canyon South Rim.

We arrived at the south rim of the Grand Canyon and were just blown away with the scenery and just the size; I do not know what I expected but nothing of this magnitude. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you the length of the Canyon to see a huge variety of over looks, Getting on the shuttle outside the camp ground we decided to go the full length with out getting off to get off at each view point on the way back, wrong choice only stopped at 2 view points on the ay back, so we spent most of the day getting on and off the shuttle, we had to keep coming down to go back up and get offJ we did not miss anything though, including Californian Condors, which are an endangered species there is a very successful program to increase their numbers.

We also took a flight over the Canyon which again was amazing (I survived very well) (well!! Only just another 10 mins would have been good bye breakfast)

I really did get in that plane. I was in the front and had six bags!!!!!

This photo I took from the plane.

I would have liked to have gone down the canyon, may be on a donkey, until I saw the trails hanging on the edge of the canyon walls AND I could not see the bottom, having read in the guide book a couple of donkeys fell off the trail, were killed injuring some tourists, I decided not to bother and stay on the top. I cannot tell you how wonderful it all is WOW and WOW again !!!!! We did however go to every overlook or point on the south rim

From here we drove to the North rim of the canyon

which I will tell you about in another letter.

so take care everyone

I miss you all I love you all
