Brazil...OJ's leg 29.9.05

Olwyn has her operation tomorrow. they are having trouble with the insurance company who will not pay up because they do not have a return ticket home; which is very worrying for us all as no one has a return ticket 88| but if we did it would be by boat, which would take 4 weeks, no good when one has a broken foot!! soooooooooooo who knows am I insured or not!

Olywn fell down a pit in a garage I cannot remember if I told you this. Peters back door lock had broken, locked shut. so we had gone to yet another merc garage :**:

we had been parked in the street, but it was very hot and we were in the full sun, good for the solar panels tho, and the people from the garage invited us into the yard out of the sun. the pit was uncovered. One of the workmen phoned the emergency and a fire engine came and 2 motorbikes - I think there were 6 guys altogether :!: I was very, very impressed with their work and their care. The hospital was just as good. we were lucky enough to have a young doctor on duty with very good english - both speaking and understanding. Olwyn´s care was 1st class. we were in the public hospital, but they did not have room for her there, so she was sent to a 2nd hospital after her initial treatment. the surgeon that will do the operation works on the Brazilian footballer´s when necessary.

We are leaving here Tuesday and going to the pantanal, having a 3 day trip when we get there, it should take about 9 days round trip. we will then come back for OJ and then carry on with OJ to the falls and then the rest of our trip. we hope!!!! if OJ is not up to the travel we will go with them to a port for their journey home. We all hope that will not happen.
